„They meet to chat and to have tea or coffee at lovingly set tables. But then they get down to brass tacks: the 40 year-old lover, whom a woman half as old as they are would be happy to have. About surfing for lovers in the Internet. About falling in love, or, occasionally, deciding they don't want a certain partner at all any longer.

Just like young people do. But something's different. These women like their bodies, even though they have become old, wrinkled and worn. They like it in a mature way. They don't strech out on the sheets in certain positions in order to look more attractive. They're not prepared to lie down on their backs just to make their wrinkles disappear. They are not ashamed of their lust. No more bullshit. Noone to wait on any more, unless they want it.“
Heidi List

„An astonishingly open-hearted film. Likeable women, sympathetic and intelligent statements, which many women of the same age would certainly be able to agree with — and an important message: longing for lust has no biological expiry date.“
Elfriede Hammerl

„This is an important issue in our society: older women openly discussing their sexuality, their lust, their desires, their needs and passions. Very good cinematography: easy-going, appealing, absorbing.“

In public opinion, people over sixty, an ever-growing social group, are perceived as having no sexuality or lust. This especially relates to the sexual desires of older women. Female ageing is dramatically linked to downrating a woman's general appeal as a lover. The traditional view of whom we find attractive is still based on masculine ideals. Social role models, formed by patriarchal views, determine whom society permits to be sexually active. This is dominated by the idea that sexual desires have become useless to a woman after she lost her fertility. Thus, our society tends to sentence women to a life of sexual abstinence at a point when they could make the most out of their sexual sensuality.

Women's Lust celebrates older women and their sexuality. The five women featured in the film tell us how they managed to break through social prejudices, leaving them behind in order to find a self-determined approach towards their body and their sexuality. Our heroines question the traditional social role models. They are good examples for older women to feel their desires and wishes confirmed, rather than being negated. They show us all that older women can fulfill their sexual dreams — and that they may well do so.
